Bacon Dip

This is one of the OG warm dip recipes my Mom has made for years and its one of my favorites.

The point of this recipe is for it to be simple and quick to put together. There are only 5 ingredients- bacon bits, cheddar cheese, sour cream, cream cheese, and green onions. The most difficult part of this recipe is to chop the green onions. The cheese can be bought shredded and the bacon already cooked and broken into “bits”. Sure, you can shred a block of cheese and cook and crumble bacon fresh if you’d like, its just going to be a tad bit more time consuming.

I have made this recipe dozens of times over the years and it never fails to be a crowd pleaser.

To make Bacon Dip, you will need…

  • 8 oz block Neufchatel cream cheese

  • 16 oz sour cream

  • 1 package of bacon bits

  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

  • 1 bunch green onion, chopped.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Combine cream cheese and sour cream in a medium mixing bowl. Use a fork or edge of a spatula to break up the cream cheese to better incorporate with the sour cream. When you see small pea-sized chunks of the cream cheese in the sour cream, add the remaining ingredients- cheddar cheese, bacon bits, and green onion.

Transfer mixture to baking dish and cook uncovered for 30-35 minutes, or until sides are bubbling.

Remove from oven and serve with cracker of your choice.
